Understanding the TOEFL
The TOEFL exam is divided into four sections:
-
Reading: This section measures your ability to understand and analyze academic texts. It includes 2 passages followed by 10 questions per passage (20 questions total).
-
Listening: This section evaluates your understanding of conversations and lectures in English. You will listen to audio recordings and answer related questions.
-
Speaking: This section assesses your spoken English skills through 4 tasks. You will be required to express your opinions, and summarize texts and audio.
-
Writing: This section tests your ability to write in English. It includes two tasks: an integrated task where you will read a passage, listen to a lecture, and then write a response, and an academic discussion task where you will write a response based on personal experience or opinion.
