General Questions
A: I teach the Hindi and Urdu languages, and I help students prepare for the TOEFL and IELTS exams. Additionally, I offer general ESL and writing instruction.
A: My classes are open to students of all ages and backgrounds.
A: All classes are conducted online, providing flexibility and convenience for students regardless of their location. My preference is to use Zoom for classes, and I share the meeting invitation when the class is scheduled. You're not required to have a "licensed" (i.e. paid) Zoom account.
A: You will need a stable internet connection, a computer or laptop, and a quiet environment for learning. I recommend using a computer or laptop (instead of a tablet or mobile) and a headset for the best learning experience. I prefer to conduct classes using Zoom. You don't need to have a licensed (i.e. paid) Zoom account.
A: I prefer payments through Venmo or PayPal for class payments. Details will be provided once the class is scheduled.
A: Cancellations made less than 24 hours ahead of the scheduled class time are charged. If I need to cancel a class less than 24 hours ahead, the student’s next class will be free of charge.
Hindi-Urdu Language Instruction
A: Yes, I offer lessons in both Roman transliteration and native scripts (Devanagari for Hindi and Nastaliq for Urdu), depending on your preference and learning goals.
A: I use a variety of materials, including passages, dialogues and worksheets in either Roman transliteration or the native scripts. The textbooks I use include “Elementary Hindi” and “Let’s Study Urdu,” and I also use various forms of literature for advanced learners.
A: I assess each student’s proficiency level and learning objectives to create customized lesson plans. I use interactive activities, practical exercises, and continuous feedback to ensure effective learning.
TOEFL and IELTS Preparation
A: The TOEFL exam is divided into four sections: Reading, Listening, Speaking, and Writing. Each section evaluates different aspects of your academic English proficiency.

A: Yes, I offer a large number of authentic practice tests to help you familiarize yourself with the exam format and question types.
A: I provide targeted exercises, effective exam strategies, detailed feedback, and personalized instruction to help students improve their scores.
Writing Instruction
A: I teach a range of writing skills, including grammar, vocabulary, structure, style, and creative writing. My lessons are designed to enhance academic writing abilities.
A: Students complete writing assignments outside of class, and I provide detailed feedback on their work. We then review this feedback together during class to help students understand areas for improvement. I also always have students edit and/or rewrite their assignments so that they learn from the feedback.
A: I use a variety of materials, including writing exercises, study guides, and writing prompts to build confidence and proficiency in writing.
A: I assess each student’s writing proficiency and goals to create customized lesson plans. Lessons are tailored to address specific strengths and areas for improvement.
